NEW: The application for the 2023 CB-EIC Scholars is currently open. To apply, please fill in the following application form.

The Electron-Ion Collider (EIC) represents a flagship project for the future of Nuclear Physics, therefore it provides an excellent platform to inspire, attract, and train the next generation of scientists. The CB-EIC is a PhD bridge program for the EIC with a partnership between the California EIC consortium and Cal-Bridge. This program is sponsored by the U.S. Department of Energy.

Our alliance can reach the largest pool of low-income, first-generation and underrepresented minority students in the nation. We will select, mentor, and track trainees following well-established methods used by Cal-Bridge. Trainees will join EIC R&D projects with the California EIC consortium, with year-around training at UCLA and UCR and summer internships at LBNL and LLNL.

The undergraduate trainees will be appointed as CB-EIC scholars, who receive full financial support. Our well-resourced network offers potential to broaden and boost the pipeline to Nuclear Physics, with an emphasis on the nascent EIC community and national laboratories.
